Why Chelsea fans disagree as Donnarumma beats Edouard Mendy for prestigious awards

CHELSEA fans have been commenting on social media as PSG goalkeeper, Donnarumma emerged the best goalkeeper in the world.

During the Ballon d’Or awards ceremony that was held on Monday in Paris, Donnarumma officially becomes the best goalkeeper in the land.

But Chelsea fans disagreed and claimed that their own number one shot stopper Edouard Mendy deserves the award.

The first argument they put forward is that during the season in view, Mendy helped his team, Chelsea to win the Champions League. During the competition, Mendy was instrumental as the Blues claimed their second UEFA Champions League. Also, apart from winning the Champions League, they beat Villarreal to clinch the UEFA Super Cup.

Another point put forward by Chelsea fans is that the number of clean sheets recorded by Mendy cannot be compared with that of Donnarumma. Chelsea fans believe that the clean sheets is because of the great performance of their goalkeeper.

Apart from playing for Chelsea, Mendy also had a great impact for his country, Senegal as they are ranked the best team in Africa.
