Chelsea fans are happy as board moves to reach contract agreement with Rudiger
Chelsea fans are happy as the Blues board has reportedly increased their contract offer to their defender, Antonio Rudiger, in response to the defender’s demands. The Germany international is in the final phase of his contract with Chelsea FC and will have to either renew the contract or leave on a free transfer this summer.
The 28-year-old made new contract demands including a wage increase to £200,000 weekly. According to Goal.com, The Blues have offered to increase Rudiger’s weekly salary to an amount close to what he demanded.
Although some European giants are interested in the defender, The Blues are making huge efforts in ensuring that the German remains at Stamford bridge after the summer transfer window. Rudiger has been an important player to Chelsea.
With Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta running out of contract in the summer, it is important that the blues do everything possible to retain Rudiger in their squad.
