Bad news for Tuchel as Chelsea’s star rules out against Lille
UEFA Champions League defending champions Chelsea are likely to miss the services of their star midfielder Mason Mount when they face Ligue 1 side LOSC Lille on Tuesday night.
Mount sustained an ankle injury during the just concluded FIFA Club World Cup final against Palmeiras. He was an absentee in Chelsea’s 1-0 injury time win over Crystal Palace last weekend.Although the young English midfielder is back in training, he’s a serious doubt for the Blues’ round of 16 match against Lille at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.
Mount played a pivotal role in the Champions League last season and will surely be missed if he’s not available for selection. The good news for Chelsea fans is that club skipper Caesar Azpillicueta is expected back in the squad after missing the Crystal Palace game on Saturday.
