“Lukaku is tired”, Tuchel reveals shocking updates on Belgian striker ahead Chelsea’s EFL Cup final

Chelsea striker, Thomas Tuchel has revealed shocking updates on his top striker, Romelu Lukaku ahead Carabao Cup final match on Sunday.

Chelsea will face Liverpool for a chance to win another trophy weeks after winning the FIFA club world cup in Abu Dhabi.

Chelsea Welcomed Lille to Stamford Bridge for their Champions League round of 16 first leg fixture and Lukaku was on the bench.

After the game, Tuchel said that Lukaku is tired both mentally and physically and needed to rest for the game against the French Champions.

The German tactician disclosed that he might get another opportunity to start when he is ready. The Carabao Cup final on Sunday could also see Chelsea’s record signing to start from the bench.

The Blues will be facing the Ligue one side for the first time tonight since their last meeting in the Champions League group stage in December 2019 with Frank Lampard in charge of the Blues.

Chelsea defeated Lille 2-1 in their last meeting in 2019.

And with the game kicking off in an hour, Thomas Tuchel has released his official starting lineup for the game, dropping Romelu Lukaku to the bench after his poor performance at Crystal Palace on the weekend.And we believe Tuchel is very right to make the big decision tonight, given it would give the Belgian big striker more reason to work hard to improve his game in the coming weeks.

It would also allow him to give his all on the pitch anytime he is given a chance to feature either later tonight or when they face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final this weekend.

Having come off the bench to assist Ziyech at Crystal Palace on the weekend, Marcus Alsonso has returned to the starting lineup up tonight along with Azpilicueta who only return to team training yesterday after missing their last game through injury.

Mendy; Rudiger, Silva, Christensen, Azpilicueta, Alonso; Kovacic, Kante; Pulisic, Havertz, Ziyech.

Mason Mount has also returned to the team, and he is on the bench along with the likes of Kenedy, Harvey Vale, Sarr, Saul, Kepa, Lukaku, Werner, Bettinelli, Chalobah, Loftus-Cheek, Jorginho.
